The Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center
The Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center is a new 28 bed social detoxification program located at 223 West Adams in Riverton, Wyoming. The center provides six basic services.
Short-term detox - Clients will remain at the center until they blow a 0.0 on the breathalyzer. Once they drop below a 0.05 on the breathalyzer, the staff will help arrange rides home with sober relatives. If a safe ride cannot be arranged, the staff will transport the client home or to another safe environment once the client blows a 0.0.
Extended detox - Clients who want to remain sober will be housed for 3-7 days. During this time period staff will work to place clients into long term treatment programs in Fremont County or elsewhere in Wyoming.
Close observation - Clients who enter the center in a heavily intoxicated state or who are otherwise in need of more monitoring will be placed in the "close observation" area of the center near the nurse's station and will be checked more frequently during the early portion of their stay at the center. Clients who arrive with health conditions warranting immediate medical attention or who develop those conditions while at the center will be sent to the hospital emergency room for medical clearance.
Transitional - Clients who wish to remain sober and are waiting for other long-term treatment arrangements are provided a bed to keep them in a safe, sober environment and keep them off the streets. The center can also place sober clients at the Good Samaritan Shelter until they find other arrangements.
Outpatient services - The center will work to provide twice daily outpatient group meetings for clients who have left the center or other persons who need these services and are unable to receive them from other treatment programs in the area.
Twelve Step Meetings - The center is facilitating daily 12 step meetings at 5:30 p.m. which are non-smoking meetings open to the entire recovery community in Fremont County.
The staff at the FCACC consists of registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, masters and bachelors degree level case managers, shift supervisors and detox technicians. Medical supervision is provided in coordination with Riverton Memorial Hospital's 24 hour emergency and Dr. David Steger, Director of Emergency Medicine. Clients may be entered by self, family, law enforcement or court referral. If you think you have a problem we will try to help.
